The GREATER VISION NAZARENE CHURCH is borne out of concern for our neighbors - those "left behind" or that remain unreached with the Gospel. Although there are several COTN congregations located within a 15–20-minute drive, there is no option in Vienna for those desiring a Nazarene-Wesleyan faith community – preaching and practicing Scriptural Holiness, one that features blended worship, expositional preaching, relational evangelism, and solid Biblical teaching (focused on the 35+ age group and family groups – especially those that remain predominantly unchurched).

Thus, we believe that by focusing on life transforming servant ministry - provided by the inherent Wesleyan focus of “practical divinity” – supported by solid Biblical preaching and teaching our ministry philosophy provides an effective outreach opportunity.

Based on the “unclaimed - nones” in terms of religious affiliation, an estimate of unchurched people in Vienna within a 3-mile community radius is 19,619 (53.7% of the total population) exceeding the US average.

Based on typical drive time – this puts all the existing COTN congregations outside the preference of around 60% of the population (at a minimum) according to research.

Thus, sharing the hope of Jesus by obediently focusing on relational evangelism, relevant worship (Biblical preaching and teaching), and spiritual formation (discipleship) burdened for the souls of our Vienna neighbors in a Nazarene-Wesleyan ministry, and addressing the worrying signs of spiritual decline - provides much passion for our new ministry.

Additionally, a church plant is a wonderful method to stimulate outreach and evangelism - because it is inherently outward and upward focused:

“The single most effective evangelistic methodology under heaven is planting new churches" C. Peter Wagner.

The evangelistic emphasis in bringing glory to God by reaching those left behind or unmoved is “the REASON” that GREATER VISION NAZARENE CHURCH exists.
